Vye, the Card Game of Capture and Control

Vye is a card game for 2-5 players and published by Sand Hat Games in 2015 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. It is a strategy game of capture and control where players match Land cards to create chains of ownership and use the Family cards to expand their holdings or breakup the holdings of other players.

The set includes one deck of 110 cards, 125 tokens, and is packaged in a two piece box and includes a full color rulebook. I worked on game design, illustration, and packaging. This project took about a year as we conducted playtests and created 4 different visual sets in search of one that best represented the world we wanted to create.

Vye was successfully funded via Kickstarter in September 2014, reaching its goal in just 19 hours. It closed its campaign at over $63,000.00, exceeding its goal by over 700%.

The First Edition of Vye shipped on May 30, 2015 with over 2,500 copies sold.

The Second Edition introduced updated and new illustrations and a revised ruleset and was released in 2016. It's 2,500 units were quickly sold out.

The Third Edition of Vye was released in the fall of 2021 and features updated art and revised packaging.
